The 8th Annual Paul Seiter Memorial Hoxworth Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday January 5th, 2011 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the Mason Hoxworth Blood Center located on Mason Montgomery Rd (next to Staples & the Old Biggs Store). The idea of a Blood Drive came from Paul. It was to be his Eagle Scout project. He didn't live to complete the project so Sue and I have done so annually in his memory.
Knowing that as many as 4,500 lives may have been saved by those who have donated in Paul's memory these past eight years is a true blessing. This year we have up to 161 donor slots to fill. We are able to accommodate those who want to donate a single whole blood, a double red, or Apheresis (platelets & plasma).
Please let me know if you are able to give this year; the type of donation (whole blood, double red, Apheresis); and the time you would like to give. The donor times begin at 2:00pm and run every 15 minutes, i.e. 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 etc. up until 8:00. Since the Apheresis process is longer, there are only six time slots available 2:00, 2:30, 4:00, 4:30, 6:00, 6:30.
I also ask that you consider sending the attached poster to your family and friends (facebook, etc). 161 slots are a lot to fill but I believe that with the help of many, we can make it happen.
