On Saturday, May 8 we have the opportunity to recognize the achievements of Troop 43 Scouts at our Spring Court of Honor. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Mason Municipal Center located at 6000 Mason Montgomery Road (where we held our Christmas party). Scouts should wear their Class A uniform and are encouraged to attend with their families.
Dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m. and we are having pasta night. You will have your choice of baked ziti in marinara sauce (meatless); baked lasagna with meat; or meatballs. Besides you and your family, what I need you to bring is the following:
If your last name begins with A-K, bring a salad or vegetables and a 2-liter bottle of pop, bottled water or drink.
If your last name begins with L-Z, please bring a dessert and side dish to share.
We will provide ice, plates, cups and tableware. Keep in mind, we have Scouts with peanut and tree nut allergies so please do not bring food items with peanuts, peanut butter or tree nuts like pecans and walnuts, etc. And do not bring items processed on the peanut line due to cross contamination. Check your labels before you buy.
Our recognition program will begin shortly after dinner and should conclude by 8:30 p.m. We especially want to encourage our newest Scouts to attend since this is their first Court of Honor and we want everyone to meet all the new parents.
There will be a Friends of Scout solicitation. Someone from the Dan Beard Council will ask each of us to support their Friends of Scouting campaign. You will be asked to make an investment in your son, your troop, and your council. Each dollar you invest is dedicated to help send boys to camp and to support our volunteer leaders with the tools and resources needed in order to provide such a high quality program for your son. This is merely a request, not a requirement.
What I need from you is a an email if you are coming and how many total from your family. I need your response by Sunday evening, May 2. I will have a final sign up sheet at our Troop Meeting on Monday but I need to know the number of attendees from your family. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I hope to see each of you on May 8!
