Ron Green (Feb 1, 2010):
Yes, I am starting to talk about summer camp already. I am coordinating summer camp along with Kristen Bomkamp who will be coordinating health forms, scheduling merit badges, etc. (What Fran Kester did for years). There will be many more emails and a parents meeting scheduled once we know when all of the new scouts have crossed over and start attending our meetings.
Scout Camp: Roy C. Manchester
It is on Kentucky Lake near Aurora , Kentucky about 5 1/2 to 6 hours away.
Fees: Scout = $205.00 (due by April 1st)
+ transportation and any additional costs of merit badges or programs chosen
Adult Leaders = No cost, the Troop is covering the cost of all adults attending summer camp
Note: Once the money is collected for all the scouts who will be attending summer camp, the Troop will send one check to the camp.
Health Forms: Requirements will be forth coming.
Transportation: The Troop is looking into hiring a coach bus to take us to and from camp, if it is too costly we will driving our cars.
Please start thinking about whether or not your scout will be attending summer camp and adults if you would consider spending a week or part of a week in Kentucky with the Troop.
