Troop 43,

Attached, please find the permission form.  The list of current attendees for our campout next Saturday at John Bryan State Park is located in the Scout Login page (March 2011).  If you plan on attending, please let me know ASAP so we can finalize the list with the park.  Cost is $5 for camping and the cost of your patrol meals.  Patrol meal costs are usually divided evenly and payment made to whoever is in charge of purchasing the food.

Plan on leaving at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, meeting at the back parking lot behind the Mason Middle School.  If you are an adult attending, please let me know if you can drive and how many seats you have available in your vehicle.   The troop will arrive back in Mason between 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.  Calls will be made from the road to give you an exact time on Sunday morning.  Drop off will be back at the Mason Middle School back parking lot.

Please plan on bringing any camping gear you would normally bring:  sleeping bag, pillow, hiking shoes, cup, plate, water bottle, utensils, flashlight/lantern/batteries, small backpack for hike, toiletries, folding chair, hat, and Scout book.  Tents are provided by the troop, along with cooking equipment.  The scouts will plan their meals tomorrow at the meeting.  Each patrol will plan on cooking dinner Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.  Adults will be a patrol and will also plan their meals tomorrow night.  Plan on bringing a sack lunch for Saturday.

The weather should be a high around 50, sunny with a 20% chance of rain.  Lows at night should be around 37. Please be prepared and bring the appropriate clothing.  Also plan on bringing some spending money for a trip to Young's Dairy Farm for ice cream.  If I've forgotten anything on the gear, please let me know.  Remember, no electronic devices are allowed, including cell phones or any type of game device.

For the new scouts, this will be a great opportunity to get several requirements completed.

Again, if you have any questions, please let me know, or bring them up tomorrow night at the troop meeting.

Thanks,

Scott Wells
